Resource to help you learn more about making a power of attorney in Victoria

Compass has a great resource available for people in Victoria to increase their understanding of making a power of attorney. You can visit the webpage, with lots of information, including one of our Planning Your Future videos.

A power of attorney is a legal document that allows you to nominate a person, multiple people, or a trustee organisation to act as your decision-maker and manage decisions on your behalf. The person or organisation that you nominate is known as the ‘attorney’, and you are known as the ‘principal’.

Compass is a national website navigating elder abuse in Australia. Compass aims to create a national focus on elder abuse by raising awareness of this growing social issue, and simplify the process of connecting people to services and information tackling elder abuse.

Compass has been created by Elder Abuse Action Australia (EAAA), with funding from the Australian Government Attorney-General’s Department.
