Seniors Rights Victoria and COTA Victoria held their World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2026 showcase event, Beyond Age, at the Melbourne Town Hall on 11 June.
The event was MCed by Max Primmer, the winner of the 2023 Victorian Senior of the Year Awards program’s Ageing Well award, and featured a Welcome to Country from Indigenous Educator Thane Garvey, a special video greeting from the Victorian Minister for Ageing, Ingrid Stitt, and a speech from Seniors Rights Victoria CEO Ben Rogers.
Most importantly, event allowed attendees to add to the Beyond Age campaign through an interactive discussion on the positive and negative aspects of ageing, as led by Seniors Rights Victoria Peer Educator Sharon Butler.
The event was supported by the City of Melbourne through the Community Use of Town Halls Scheme.
