Help inform our own submission to government
The Victorian Government is seeking wide community input to help develop the next State Disability Plan (SDP) – the state’s key blueprint for action over the next four years to improve fairness and community participation for everyone with a disability.
The new SDP will start from mid-2027. This will align with a new Victorian Autism Plan, also the subject of current consultation.
COTA Victoria has advocated for more visible inclusion of ageing issues in these plans. As well as the high rates of disability in the older population, there is a strong overlap between action to improve life for people with a disability and action to support older people generally.
We would love you to tell us at COTA Victoria and Seniors Rights Victoria what you think so that we can reflect your views in our own submission to the Victorian Government. You can do this by completing a short online survey using the buttons below. We ask that you complete our own survey by 22 June 2026; the Victorian Government’s deadline for submissions is 17 July 2026.
Your feedback — both direct to government and to us for the purposes of our own submission — will help shape these important plans to better meet the needs, rights and expectations of all older Victorians with a disability.
