The first public hearing for the parliamentary inquiry into support for older Victorians from migrant and refugee backgrounds was held on Monday 31 January.
The Committee is doing an inquiry on support for older Victorians from culturally diverse backgrounds.
This includes an examination of the adequacy of Victorian support services and challenges faced by older Victorians, such as:
The Inquiry is also exploring ways to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing of older Victorians from culturally diverse backgrounds.
“This is just the first of several public hearings and we’re going to cover a broad range of important matters relevant to the welfare of older Victorians from culturally diverse backgrounds,” Committee Chair Natalie Suleyman said.
